If you are going to have a diploma on a wall, it should be towards the top center of the wall or high enough so that it is visible from the most common area. Also a wall space that gets great lighting will help make the area more appropriate for displaying diplomas.
What Frame is Best for Diploma?
You must always make sure not to put your diploma on a wall with the wrong frame style. You should always make sure the frame is a good fit for the diploma because its frame will prevent it from being displayed properly. These days there are dozens of types of frames for diplomas. These include metal or wood frames.
Wood comes in many varieties, but oak is the most widely used. Oak is the classic choice for large frames with many openings to allow more of the image to be displayed. It is most often used for both standard and custom picture frames.
Case for metal frames -- Metal is a beautiful, sturdy material that can be given a wide range of finishes and colors to suit your home or office décor. It is a great choice for contemporary or modern frames.
How Do You Hang Diploma Frames?
The next issue you need to worry with is finding the right hanger, such as a wire or wooden hanger. There are a few styles, like a round or flat style and you need to decide which one you prefer.
- Make sure you have all the necessary tools to get the job done. These include a hammer, screwdriver, and wood screws.
- Place the diploma face down inside the frame's flat surface. If you have a mat, place it over the opening and check the fit again. Make sure it fits snugly, but not too tightly. If so, you may need to trim the mat a little in order for it to fit properly.
- Secure the backing board of the frame to hold the diploma in place. You can cut the backing board with a utility knife to that it fits perfectly in the frame. Insert the cardboard in the frame and cut the backing board to size with a utility knife.
- Hook the completed frame to a wall hook. Finding the right hanger, such as a wire or wooden hanger, is key here. There are a few styles available, like a round or flat style hook but you'll need to decide which one you prefer.
- Enjoy the frame diploma for years to come.
How Do You Clean a Diploma Frame?
We recommend using a cleaning wipe that is specifically designed for picture frames. Avoid using standard household cleaners as they could damage the finish of the frame.
Because metal attracts dust easily, metal may need to be dusted more than wood frames. Metal frames also do not have a protective coating on them, so they need to be maintained in order to prevent rust.
To avoid scratching a surface while dusting, it is best to use disposable rubber gloves. Paper towels are also great for cleaning without leaving any marks.
